How to Stop Cough in 5 Minutes for toddler or kids

Right now it is almost 11:30pm in the evening and my toddler (2-years old) just started to sleep soundly. She was coughing this morning, though it died down during the day and she even went to play school. The moment we started to put her to sleep she started coughing and coughing. Despite the medicine and even the chinese medicine (black sticky stuff made from hong Kong which is famous for curing sore throat) couldn't stop her dry cough! As a mother who saw her little one coughing so vigorously every 3-minutes , I got so disturbed and desperate!!!

I googled "how to stop dry cough kids" and I stumbled upon a blog by a Filipino who reported the article (which I pasted below).

To make the long story short ... After reading it, I tried it, and it worked!!! Now my little daughter is sound asleep without a peep of cough .... It has been 20 minutes since I applied Vicks on her feet and covered with socks. Not one cough so far!!!

Hope this works for other parents too especially in their times of desperation as they see their little ones coughing.

Good luck and hope it works out for you too. Signing off now as I can go to sleep peacefully knowing she won't be awakened by the persistent dry cough anymore.

How to stop cough in 5 minutes!!!

This is a must try…

We have all been kept awake by our own or someone else’s cough. Try this and pass it on. The tip and not the cough. ANYTHING is better than antibiotics. Even babies could benefit from this and the parents wouldn’t worr y about the safety of their child. And of course, it is harmless and free from any type of side-effects.

READ IT ALL. It works 100 percent of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research
council (who discovered it) aren’t sure why.

Treatment : To stop nighttime coughing in a child (or an adult, as we found out personally), put Vick s Vapor Rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime and then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about five minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. This works 100 percent of the time, and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. I heard the head of the Canada Research Council describe these findings on the part of their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children, as compared to alternative therapies like acupressure. I just happened to tune in to a.m. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs, so I listened. It was a surprising ;finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, and in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly. My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago, and it worked 100 percent! She said it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her. The coughing stopped in a few minutes, and believe me this was a deep (incredibly annoying!) every few seconds, uncontrollable cough and she slept cough-free for hours every night she used it. If you have children or grandchildren, pass it on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be
absolutely amazed by the effect.

Found this from another blog. Tried. It worked. Must put her blog link to recognize her efforts (plus if you want to see all the other comments from people)...

Where to Buy meat

For pork lovers, people who like to buy fresh things from the market, the morning run to TTDi market is a must. On weekends it is very busy , and they're open Tuesday to Sunday .

I have been buying my pork from this guy for a few years now. He always carries an interesting conversation with his customers while he chops away.

Their meet is fresh and will definitely satisfy any discerning customer.

St Patrick Ball 2012

We really enjoyed the St Patrick's Ball yesterday evening. Definitely the party to go to once a year. We enjoyed the food and free flow of all kinds of drinks. We had champagne to start off (at the VIP room) then moving to dinner free flow of quality white or red wine , plus some entertainment. Little girls dancing the Irish dance really got me emotional because I felt the passion and how the Irish love their culture & tradition. The Irish really know how to party!!! The moment the dance floor opened people joined in the dance. There were free flow Irish Baileys, Irish coffee, and beer. Cheese was served at 1am while they all hurried into the other room to watch rugby (England va Ireland). There was also Irish traditional music and 2 different live bands. Everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves. Loved the atmosphere and energy! Definitely want to attend again next year.

This year it was held t Hilton KL.

Boracay still the best beach for us!

Despite numerous beach travels around the world, hubby agrees with me that Boracay is still top of the list. Okay, we haven't been to Maldivea yet (though it's on top of my next go-to place)... But if you were to compare price, Boracay is definitely more affordable for the average Joe (or Juan, as we would say in the Philippines).

This March 2012, I went back to Boracay (Caticlan) for a 4-days, 4-nights stay. At this point I would like to highlight that we feel it wasn't enough. I swear the next booking I do to Boracay will at least be 4 nights!

My little toddler (2yrs old) loved playing on the powdery white sand. Even at 12noon when the sun is hot, the sand is cool to the feet. The water was so clear you can see your own pedicure! The sand is so fine, you can walk and run barefoot without having to be cautious about stepping on sharp rocks.

Recently I discovered a new boutique hotel which I adored after our stay. We used to stay at Discovery Shores but I found out their price is ridiculously high now that I opted to try something else. That is the other beauty of Boracay, there are tons (and I mean tons) of accommodation that fit every kind of traveller.

We stayed at the boutique resort called Astoria at Station 1. The rooms were clean, spacious and well designed. Choose a "luxury room" which is moderately priced. The location is pretty good, giving you quick access to D'Mall ( where u can find almost everything you need: gourmet food, wine, cheese, bikinis, Starbucks, Havaianas shop, souvenirs and ATM). It is also easy access to the beautiful white sand stretch of station 1.

We recently exams adventurous. I think this is probably my 15th trip to Boracay (if not more) and I have never been to the famous market area called Talipapa in station 3. We took our hired tricycle (php60- per way) and he brought us there. It was lobster heaven! We shopped at the market for our own lobster, fish, crab and squid. Then there are many small restaurants beside the market which offer cooking services. This is a very humble place so don't expect 5-star ambience. We truly enjoyed our scrumptious meal (we used our hands to ravage the seafood spread!) we spent about php 3,500 for everything inclusive of cooking, rice, seafood and drinks. That was for 5 adults and one toddler. I literally had an overdose of lobster.

Speaking of overdose, I also went overboard with mango shakes. The Philippines is famous for its mango shakes and no trip is complete without it!!! It is a m-u-s-t !!!

We took the Cebu Pacific flight from kL to Manila and then stayed few nights in Manila. Then we took a domestic flight Cebu pacific from Manila to Caticlan. I noticed some China people who took straight flights from China then connecting to Caticlan. Folks from KL can do the same thing and fly straight KL-Manila-Caticlan without having to change airports nor wasting time in Manila.

Sigh, I am already planning for our next Boracay trip. It really is paradise and so far nothing beats the sea, sand and sun experience!

St Patrick Ball Kuala Lumpur

We are attending this year. Just received the invites today. Not sure what to expect.

Hubby needs to wear tuxedo and bow tie. Surveyed around rental shops and in the end I think it is more worth it to buy it! He ended up buying the white top and bow tie at Midvalley today.

Looking forward to the ball!
